• SUMMARY: The Counselor's main purpose
is to provide therapy to individuals from all age groups in the community
treating a broad range of problems from various cultural and socio-economic
backgrounds. The Counselor shall assess, evaluate, diagnose, select approach
to be used for individual treatment program and maintain client records, as
well as, all data required by the agency.
POSITION REQUISITES:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Masters degree in counseling or social work, three
years counseling experience, and Certification of AZ Board of Behavioral
Health Examiners (LCSW)
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Must have extensive knowledge and background of Outpatient behavioral
health population.
• Must be knowledgeable of community resources available.
• Must be familiar with current psychotropic medications and side effects.
• Must be experienced and trained in crisis interventions.
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read/speak fluent English, bilingual optional.
• Must have specialized knowledge and skills relative to growth and
development of children and adolescents.
• Must be able to apply an appropriate range of treatment interventions to
children and adolescents.
• Must have knowledge of substance abuse/dependence.

SUMMARY:
• The Dedicated Case Manager will be responsible for providing out of office
Intensive Case Management to an assigned child and adolescent caseload. This
position will also perform mental health assessments, CASII assessment,
perform CFT’s, screenings and/or evaluations as appropriate.
• This is a non-exempt, full-time position.
POSITION REQUISITES:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School or GED with at least four (4) years
full-time work experience in behavioral health; OR High School or GED plus
18 credit hours post-High School education in field related to behavioral
health completed nor more than four (4) years before the date of
application; OR Bachelor's degree in a field related to behavioral health
plus two (2) years full-time work experience in behavioral health; OR
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health.
NOTE: Degree in non-behavioral health field may be considered
provided the minimum requirements for behavioral health education and
behavioral health work experience are met: Refer to ADHS definitions for
Clinical Liaison.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Ability to effectively use Crisis de-escalation techniques and behavior
management techniques in crisis situations.
• Ability to read/speak fluent English, bilingual optional.
• Must have the ability to use simple math calculations.
• Able to recognize symptoms of client’s diagnosed mental disorders or
addictions.
• Knowledge of indications, common side effects, reactions and interactions
of prescribed medications.
• Client record keeping of client activities and progress towards goals and
objectives.
• Shall acquire or have knowledge of growth and development of children and
adolescents.
• Shall acquire or have knowledge of the range of treatment needed by
children and adolescents.
Shall be eligible to become a CFT facilitator within 30 days of hire.
